What is a Sky Ski?

The Sky Ski is a hydrofoil sit-down towable high-performance waterski type product.

How does it work?

It works on the principles of flight (aerodynamics). In this case it is hydrodynamics. Basically water is 700 times denser than air making the Sky Sky hydrofoil an airplane wing scaled down. This allows the rider to fly above the water surface eliminating drag. It also eliminates the problems of riding in rough water experienced with other waterski products.

Use of a helmet is recommended for any outdoors activities.

Always use a low or non-stretch line such as 5/16" poly-ethylene or Spectra to reduce the risk of high speed handle recoil. Rope lengths are a personal preference, and there is no set standard. In general, ropes lengthen as the riders' skills improve. Length Guide: 55 - 80 ft.

A "deep-V" handle should be used only during the beginning stages of learning. Deep-V handles are a great training aid, and you should have one in your boat at all times to speed the learning process for new riders. However, riders should replace their deep-V handle with a standard single handle as soon as possible to reduce the risk of falling forward (with a limb or other body part) into the large "hole" section of the deep-V.

Your line or handle may become caught on the ski, seat tower, or foil assembly; especially when learning new skills such as spins and inverts. Use a trick release with an experienced pin puller to reduce your risk of injury.

Always read all disclaimers on all products before using.

Who can ride a Sky Ski?

The unique features of the Sky Ski allow many people that would not ordinarily be able to enjoy many waterski products the opportunity to enjoy watersports. Problems of physical limitations are overcome by the Sky Ski. It doesn't matter if your 18 or 85 years old or 80 pounds or pushing 300. The reduced drag requires minimal strength.

Mary Murphy over 80 years old, featured in Ripleys Believe it or Not, rides from Long Beach to Catalina Island and back on her birthdays.

Why should I get a Sky Ski?

The Sky Ski virtually eliminates the problems of choppy water inherent to skis, wakeboards and kneeboards.

The Sky Ski has a more ergonomical design than other hydrofoils and a stronger foil system.
