August, 2002: Worlds youngest rider record broken. Emma Honkala at 2 years 8 months has broken her little brothers record by about 4 months.

"Just got word that Ivan Honkula's youngest foil pilot record was beaten
last weekend........... by his baby sister, Emma!! At 2 years, 8 months
old, Emma has not shown much interest in skiing or even swimming up
till Saturday when she asked her daddy Scott if she could go "Ky ki"!
After one attempt she was a bit freaked out by it all so she got back
in the boat. Then on Sunday she asked again..... this time taking her
pacifier out & saying "go Daddy, go" around it! And she got up twice!!
Even on Ivan's kid's ski her little legs barely reach the bindings!

Congrats to Emma, Scott & the entire family!! I hear that Ivan was a
bit disappointed when he realized he wouldn't be the youngest rider an
more. But when Dad offered to let Ivan teach Emma how to jump he perked
right up..... so now Ivan will be the world's youngest coach at just 7
years old!!"
